In season five, episode seventeen of the historical drama television series Vikings, titled The Most Terrible Thing, an unexpected turn among the settlers leaves Floki powerless. Elsewhere, King Alfred confronts Judith. Meanwhile, in York, Bjorn must strike a deal with Harald. Wessex is once again threatened by a Viking force, raising the question of who will lead the Saxon army to defend the realm.

The television series Vikings is a historical drama created and written by Michael Hirst for the History channel. The series transports viewers to a brutal and mysterious world, following the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore, along with telling the sagas of the greatest hero of his age. Most Vikings were farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, and traders who had their own laws, art, and architecture.

The series originally aired from 2013 to 2020. Following the conclusion of the original series, a sequel series titled Vikings Valhalla premiered on Netflix on February 25, 2022.
