Overview

The 2012 film The Raid follows an elite swat team as they attempt to infiltrate an impenetrable safe house located within a Jakarta slum. This run-down apartment block serves as a base for the world's most dangerous gangsters and killers, remaining untouchable to police forces until the team launches a mission to apprehend a notorious drug lord. The operation begins under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence to maintain tactical advantage. However, the mission takes a turn when a chance encounter with a spotter alerts the drug lord to the presence of the officers. The building's lights are subsequently cut and all exits are blocked, leaving the team trapped inside the structure. Stranded on the sixth floor, the police must fight for survival against the inhabitants of the apartment block. The narrative centers on the struggle of the elite unit as they navigate the hostile environment and attempt to complete their objective while facing the threat of the criminals who control the location.
