The initial forensic report confirms that the banker was murdered, but the locked nature of the chamber suggests a staged scene. As the investigation unfolds, the team uncovers evidence that the deceased had been living a double life. Financial records reveal that he was siphoning millions of dollars from client accounts, a scheme that had gone unnoticed because of his polished public persona. The revelation of his illicit activities expands the pool of potential suspects, as anyone who might have been harmed by the embezzlement now has motive.

Patrick Jane, the former celebrity psychic medium who now works as a consultant for the CBI, reviews the case files and focuses on the psychological dimensions of the crime. Recognizing that the perpetrator may be hiding behind a façade, Jane devises a mental conundrum designed to pressure each suspect into revealing their true character. He arranges a controlled scenario in which the suspects are presented with information that forces them to confront the consequences of the banker’s deception. Jane’s approach
