The Incredible Rocky Mountain Race is a television movie released in December 1977 that falls into the adventure, comedy, and western genres. Directed by James L. Conway, the film features a cast that includes Christopher Connelly, Forrest Tucker, Larry Storch, and Jack Kruschen. The story begins when an old man, identified as old Samuel Clemens, observes a boy bullying his playmates and treats him to a morality lesson. To teach this lesson, the man tells the story of an epic cross-country race between a young Mark Twain and his rival, Mike Fink. The bulk of the film depicts this race, which ultimately proves to be much more of a test of character than a test of physical stamina.
