Overview

The story follows a collection of varied gentlemen known as the Good Comrades who crave solitude and reside at Drearcliff House, the ancestral home of their eldest member. Everything is serene and convivial until the members begin to perish one by one in grisly manners, with each death foretold by the delivery of orange pips to the victims. Foul play is suspected by the Good Comrades insurance agent, leading him to turn to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson for guidance. Sherlock Holmes investigates the series of deaths at the castle.
