In the eighth episode of the second season, the narrative opens with the arrival of Vandal Savage in Central City. Savage’s purpose is made clear when he directs his attention toward Kendra Saunders, a resident whose safety becomes a central concern. The episode quickly escalates as Savage launches an attack that injures both Kendra and Cisco, prompting the two to seek assistance from Barry Allen. Recognizing the threat that Savage poses, Barry decides that protecting Kendra requires moving her out of Central City’s immediate danger zone. He transports her to Star City, where he enlists the help of Oliver and his team, asking them to conceal her while he works to devise a strategy to neutralize Savage’s menace.
