Overview

The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The show premiered on March 30, 2001, and ran until 2017. The program follows the zany, fast-paced adventures of a ten-year-old boy named Timmy Turner. After experiencing humiliation and torture at the hands of his babysitter, Timmy is placed under the care of two fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda. These magical beings grant Timmy almost any wish to help him solve his everyday problems. However, these granted wishes frequently result in inadvertent havoc for the pint-sized charge. The series features voice acting from Tara Strong, Daran Norris, Susanne Blakeslee, and Carlos Alazraqui. The first season, which consisted of 13 episodes, concluded on December 9, 2001, with a double-length Christmas special titled Christmas Everyday. The production was also directed by Gary Conrad. The series is recognized for its imaginative premise involving magical intervention in the life of a young boy, leading to various dire consequences and comedic situations throughout its multi-year run on television.
