As the sixteenth major Nicktoon, the program serves as a direct sequel to the film of the same name. The series first aired on July 20, 2002, and concluded with its final episode on November 25, 2006. Production was handled by DNA Productions alongside O Entertainment and Nickelodeon. The narrative focuses on Jimmy Neutron, a boy genius who is the smartest kid in his town. Jimmy frequently believes that most problems can be solved through the invention of a new gizmo. However, he often chooses to take the easy way out, which leads to his gadgets backfiring and resulting in various comedic adventures. The series is often shortened to Jimmy Neutron, similar to the title of the original film upon which the show is based.
