Overview

This multisensory installation is rooted at the intersection of cinema and visual art, marking a significant milestone in the career of a filmmaker. The project is an excavation of film fragments left behind during the edit of a legendary debut feature film. A selection of these previously unseen fragments has been unearthed from the archives and illuminated by an assemblage of 35mm projectors. The installation forms a mosaic of celluloid and sound bites of Mexico City, collected over the last decades. The project is stripped of all narrative, and it is not a tribute to the filmmaker's work. The installation marks a notable anniversary of the debut feature film, which was released in the year 2000.
