Overview
Speed Grapher is a 2005 anime series produced by the studio Gonzo. The show aired for 24 episodes on TV Asahi between April and October 2005. The story follows Tatsumi Saiga, a former war photographer who currently works in the tabloid industry. While attempting to investigate the underground elite in a new version of Tokyo, Saiga discovers a depraved ritual occurring beneath the city. His encounter with a young woman named Kagura Tennouzu leads to a kiss that alters the course of his life. Following this event, Saiga embarks on a quest to save Kagura from the influence of Choji Suitengu and the members of a fetish club known as the Roppongi. The narrative explores the efforts of one man to protect a woman while simultaneously challenging the foundations of the ruling class. The series features voice performances from actors including Yuji Takada, Christopher Sabat, Monica Rial, and Chris Ayres. The plot centers on the tension between the protagonist and the powerful figures controlling the city.
