Overview
Peacemaker is an American superhero television series created by James Gunn for the streaming service HBO Max. Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, the show serves as a spin-off of the 2021 film The Suicide Squad and is set within the DC Extended Universe. The series explores the life of Chris Smith, a jingoistic vigilante and vainglorious superhero who is committed to achieving peace at any cost, even if it requires killing those who stand in his way. The narrative picks up after the events of the film, following the character as he recovers from a duel with Bloodsport. Upon returning home, he discovers that his freedom comes at a price. The production features John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, and Jennifer Holland.
