Overview

Natsu no Arashi! is a television series released in 2009 that falls under the genres of animation, comedy, drama, and science fiction and fantasy. The story centers on a thirteen-year-old boy named Yasaka who is staying at his grandfather's house during his summer vacation. One day, he enters a store and meets Arashi, a beautiful sixteen-year-old girl who works there. Yasaka tries to protect Arashi from a man who claims to have been hired by her family to take her back by force, leading Yasaka to run away with her. Arashi then stays at his grandfather's place with him. Yasaka soon realizes that his new friend is far from an ordinary girl, as she possesses mysterious powers. The plot develops further when Yasaka finds a sixty-year-old picture of Arashi and another girl. The television series is an adaptation of a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Jin Kobayashi, which was serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Wing shonen manga magazine from August 2006 to September 2010 and collected in eight bound volumes.
