Naked City is a police drama series that aired on the ABC television network from 1958 to 1963. Produced by Screen Gems, the show was inspired by the 1948 film of the same name and adopted its semi-documentary style, presenting stories rooted in realism. Each episode concluded with a narrator stating, “There are eight million stories in the naked city,” reflecting the vast and varied experiences of life in New York. The series focused on the cases investigated by the N.Y.P.D.'s 65th Precinct and featured an ensemble cast including Paul Burke, Harry Bellaver, and Horace McMahon. Known for its innovative blend of procedural elements and character-driven narratives, Naked City became regarded as one of the more influential drama series of its time.
