Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On is a 2016 television series set in a world where humans and monsters coexist. While some individuals are known as Hunters, others called Riders choose to bond and live alongside creatures known as Otomon. These Riders maintain their lifestyle in secrecy, utilizing special items called Kizuna Ishi, or Bonding Stones, which possess the ability to awaken hidden powers within their monster companions. The narrative follows a young boy named Ryuto who resides in the secluded Rider village of Hakum. Ryuto aspires to become the greatest Rider in the world. Upon reaching the age of twelve, he embarks on a journey to secure an Otomon of his own. This quest takes place shortly before a significant upcoming ceremony. The series explores the unique relationship between these Riders and their monsters as they navigate a world defined by the presence of both species.
