Overview

Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons is a television series that depicts a futuristic society where humanity has achieved advanced civilization through the use of information technology called Mana. This powerful system has eliminated major global problems including war, food shortages, and pollution, creating an era of peace and freedom. The story follows a privileged princess from the Misurugi Empire who discovers she belongs to a marginalized group of people unable to utilize Mana technology. These individuals, known as Normas, face social ostracism and are sent to isolated locations. On such an island, the protagonist encounters other Normas who operate humanoid weapons called Para-mails. These mechanical devices are used for protection and defense purposes. The series explores themes of social exclusion, technological dependency, and the struggle for acceptance within a stratified society. The narrative focuses on the protagonist's journey as she adapts to her new circumstances and connects with others who share similar circumstances.
