Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact is a television series that takes place in a world where super energy, known as Photon Power, is being sought after by various individuals. This energy is developed from Japanium ore. The main antagonist, a madman, is driven by a desire for world domination and is accompanied by his subordinates, Baron Ashura and Count Brocken. They command Machine Beasts, which are excavated from an island believed to be Rhodes, to attack the Photon Power Lab. The protagonist, a hot-blooded teenager, is Kouji Kabuto, who pilots the super robot Mazinger Z. Mazinger Z is a robot constructed by Kouji's grandfather, Juzo, and is made from the strongest metal, Chogokin Z. The series involves a battle between the madman and the Kabuto family.
