The television adaptation aired on NHK Educational TV. The story follows an elementary student named Shigeno Daigo, whose father, Goro, is a professional baseball player and a former Major League player. Inspired by his father, Daigo originally started playing baseball with a youth team called the Mifune Dolphins. However, struggling to live up to the expectations of being a professional's son, he quit baseball after less than a year. In the spring of his sixth-grade year, Daigo's school welcomes a transfer student named Sato Hikaru.
