Overview

Land of the Giants is a science-fiction television series that originally aired on ABC from 1968 to 1970. The show was created and produced by Irwin Allen and consisted of two seasons. The series centers on the crew and passengers of a sub-orbital transport ship called the Spindrift, which becomes lost in space during a magnetic storm and crashes on a distant planet. This planet is Earth-like but everything on it, including the human-like inhabitants referred to as "the Giants", is twelve times larger than on Earth. The Spindrift is damaged beyond repair, leaving its occupants stranded. The series follows their efforts to survive and find a way back to Earth. It was released by 20th Century Fox and marked Irwin Allen's fourth science-fiction television series. The main cast included actors such as Gary Conway, Don Matheson, Stefan Arngrim, and Don Marshall.
