Overview

The Bionic Woman is an American science fiction action-adventure television series created by Kenneth Johnson. The program is based on the 1972 novel Cyborg written by Martin Caidin. The series features Lindsay Wagner in the lead role, with additional cast members including Richard Anderson, Martin E. Brooks, and Ford Rainey. The show originally aired on ABC from January 14, 1976, until May 4, 1977. Following its run on ABC, the series moved to NBC, where it aired from September 10, 1977, until May 13, 1978. The premise of the show follows Jaime Sommers, who is identified as the first female cyborg. After fully recovering from a near fatal bout of bionic rejection, she is assigned to conduct spy missions of her own. The production is distinct from the unrelated online presence of the YouTuber known as Bionic, who operates a separate merchandise shop featuring shirts, plushies, stickers, and comic books. The television series remains documented through various episode guides that track its original broadcast titles and air dates.
