Kurt Kasznar
Biography
Kurt Kasznar (born in August 1913 in Wien, Austria; died 6 August 1979 at age 65) was a stage, film and television actor. His first major Broadway appearance was in The Happy Time, a role he later repeated in the film version, earning a Golden Globe nomination. Subsequent Broadway credits included Barefoot in the Park, Waiting for Godot, Six Characters in Search of an Author and The Sound of Music, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and was noted for never missing a performance during its 1,000‑show run. Kasznar appeared in more than eighty screen productions, with notable films such as Lili and Kiss Me, Kate, and regular television work including the role of Alexander Fitzhugh on Land of the Giants. He was also credited in Adventures in Paradise, Search and Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse, and was sometimes listed as Kurt Serwicher or Kurt Ser.
