Kyo Kara Maoh! is a television series centered on the life of Yuri Shibuya, a high school student who enjoys playing baseball. The narrative begins when Yuri attempts to protect a former classmate from a group of hoodlums. During this confrontation, the group forces Yuri into a bathroom and submerges his face in a toilet. Upon the toilet being flushed, Yuri is transported to an entirely different world. Following his arrival, he is escorted to a castle and subsequently crowned as the King of the Demon World. The remainder of the series explores his experiences in this new environment, focusing on his interactions with his lieges, who are noted for being extraordinarily handsome. As he navigates his responsibilities as the leader of this land, the story raises questions regarding whether he will ultimately accept his role as the new ruler or find a way to return to his home. The series depicts his transition from an average student to a monarch in a supernatural setting.
