Inspector Rex 1994

Overview

Inspector Rex is an Austrian-Italian police procedural television series that originally aired from 1994 to 2004. The show follows the partnership between a recently divorced police inspector and a police dog named Rex, who team up to solve crimes in Vienna. After Rex's previous handler is killed, he is paired with Inspector Richard Moser, and the two develop a strong working relationship. They are occasionally assisted by their human colleague, Inspector Stockinger. Created by Peter Hajek and Peter Moser, the series was broadcast on ORF 1 for its initial run. It was later revived in 2008 as an Austro-Italian production airing on Rai 1. The program is known internationally as Kommissar Rex or Il commissario Rex. The series combines elements of crime investigation with the unique dynamic between its human and canine leads.
