Overview

Hell's Paradise is a Japanese anime television series that premiered in 2023. Produced by Twin Engine and animated by MAPPA, the series is based on the manga titled Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku, which was created by Yuji Kaku. The production is directed by Kaori Makita and features a voice cast that includes Chiaki Kobayashi as the character Gabimaru, alongside Yumiri Hanamori, Rie Takahashi, Ryōhei Kimura, Alejandro Saab, and Marisa Duran. The premise follows a ninja assassin who, in exchange for a potential pardon, joins a group of condemned criminals on a dangerous expedition. This squad of prisoners and their guards are sent to a mysterious island with the objective of retrieving an elixir of immortality. Upon arrival, the group becomes stranded and must rely on one another to survive against the island's mysterious and monstrous residents. The series explores the struggle for survival in this isolated environment as the characters face the challenges presented by the island's unique and hostile inhabitants while pursuing their goal.
