S3·E15 Walk on Water

Dr. Alex Karev discovers a pregnant woman with severe facial injuries and, after stabilizing her, pledges to remain involved in her care.

Dr. Meredith Grey attends to a young girl who has been separated from her mother during the incident. While attempting to protect the child, Meredith accidentally falls into the water and drowns. The tragedy is witnessed only by the small girl she was trying to help, underscoring the episode’s stark portrayal of loss amid a large‑scale emergency.
