Overview

Elite is a Spanish television series created by Dario Madrona and Carlos Montero that premiered on Netflix on October 5, 2018. The show centers on the social and romantic interactions among students at Las Encinas, a prestigious private prep school. The narrative begins when three working-class teenagers are offered scholarships to attend the school following the collapse of their previous public high school. This integration creates a clash between the low-income students and their affluent classmates, characterized by distrust and hostility. While the series features light-hearted moments, it primarily explores the trials of its ensemble cast and addresses progressive, hot-button issues such as homosexuality. The friction resulting from these social dynamics eventually leads to a murder.
