Overview
Jikuu Senshi Spielban is a Japanese tokusatsu television series that serves as a part of the Metal Hero Series created by Toei Co. Ltd. The program aired from April 7, 1986, to March 9, 1987. For the purposes of distribution, Toei refers to this series as Spielvan. The action footage featured in the show was subsequently utilized for the battle scenes in the production VR Troopers.
The plot follows the Waller Empire, which destroys the planet Clin while searching for water to sustain its deity. Two children from the planet, Spielban and Diana, manage to escape the destruction by traveling to Earth aboard a vessel called the Grand Nasca. During their long journey, the two characters grow up and eventually don High Tech Crystal Suits. Upon arriving on Earth, they use these suits to fight against the Waller, who have followed them to the planet to continue their search for resources. The series chronicles their efforts to protect Earth from the invading empire.
