Black Lightning is an American superhero drama television series that premiered on The CW. The series is based on the character of the same name and was developed by Salim Akil. It features a crusading school principal who gets back into action as the original African-American electrical superhero. The show revolves around Jefferson Pierce, a man with a secret, who is the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school in a neighborhood overrun by gang violence.
