Biography
Vincent Perez was born in Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland, with a father of Spanish origin and a mother of German origin. He spent a good part of his childhood in Penthaz and then in Cheseaux, Canton of Vaud. After studying photography at the Center Doret in Vevey, he studied dramatic art in Geneva, and later at the Conservatoire and the school of Amandiers de Nanterre. He was still a student when he began his film career in 1985 in The Guardian of the Night. He gained international prominence in 1990 by acting in Cyrano de Bergerac, and he was cited for the Cesar of the best male hope. In 1991, he appeared in Indochina, which won the Oscar for the best film.
