Titos Vandis was a Greek actor born on November 6, 1917, in Neo Faliro, Greece. He began his career on the Greek stage in the late 1930s. Vandis appeared in over 250 plays and made his Broadway debut in the musical On A Clear Day You Can See Forever in 1965. He was also part of the original Broadway cast of Illya Darling, a musical based on his film Never on Sunday, in 1967. Vandis won the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in 1962 for his role in Poliorkia. He lived in the United States for 24 years before returning to Greece. Vandis passed away on February 23, 2003, at the age of 85.
