Timothy Ross Armstrong is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor known for his distinctive hoarse and soulful voice. He is the singer and guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid and the hip hop and punk rock supergroup Transplants. Before forming Rancid, Armstrong was a member of the ska punk band Operation Ivy. In 1997, he co-founded Hellcat Records alongside Brett Gurewitz of the band Bad Religion and owner of Epitaph Records. In 2012, Armstrong began releasing music that influenced him as well as stripped-down cover songs through his website under the name Tim Timebomb. He also works as a songwriter for other artists.
