Tanny Tien Ni, also known as Tien Lie, Tanny Tien, and Tien Nee, is a Taiwanese actress born in Shanghai, China on January 1, 1948, and raised in Taiwan. She studied Beijing Opera and entered the entertainment world in 1967 after winning the title of Sweater Princess in a local beauty pageant. Following appearances in Taiwanese television series, she made her film debut in Sword of Endurance and subsequently signed a contract with Shaw Brothers in 1972. Director Li Han-Hsiang cast her in Illicit Desire in 1973, and its box office success led to her starring in several more erotic films directed by Li. She is married to classic wuxia actor Yueh Hua, whom she married in 1975, and her younger sister is Tien Niu.
