The Association 1974

Overview

The Association is a 1974 feature film from Hong Kong that falls into the drama and action genres. The story follows a plain-clothes detective named Wang, who is described as the best in his trade. While working, Wang stumbles across the body of a young girl who apparently died from an abortion. His subsequent investigation into the guilty abortionist leads him to a secret organization known as The Welfare Association, which actually operates as an international prostitution racket or a large prostitution ring. Wang sneaks into the association. When he is about to arrest the organizer of the group, a girl named Lei saves him from certain death, as her own sister's death was caused by the secret society. Wang succeeds in arresting the organizer, though she is later set free from headquarters, and Wang and Lei ultimately get together. The film runs for approximately one hour and twenty or twenty-one minutes and was released in Hong Kong.
