Steven John Carell is an American actor, comedian, producer, and screenwriter. Born on August 16, 1962, in Concord, Massachusetts, he is the son of Harriet Theresa, a psychiatric nurse, and Edwin A. Carell, an electrical engineer. His father is of Italian and German descent, while his mother was of Polish ancestry. Recognized for his versatility in both comedic and dramatic roles, Carell has established a significant career in television and film. He has been acknowledged as America's Funniest Man by Life magazine and has received numerous accolades for his performances, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for his work on the series The Office.
