Pierre Coffin is a French animator and director born in 1967 in Limoges, France. He was trained at the Gobelins in Paris. Coffin started his career at Amblimation, a 2D London-based facility, where he worked on We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story. He later worked as a freelance animator at Ex Machina, a French CGI studio, and eventually became a director. Coffin collaborated with Passion Pictures Paris and Mac Guff, and in 2010, he directed the feature CGI animated movie Despicable Me, along with Chris Renaud. He also provided voices for minor characters in Despicable Me. Coffin's known credits include directing and animation work, with a content score of 100.
