Samantha Barks is a Manx actress and singer born on 2 October 1990 in Laxey, Isle of Man. She rose to fame after placing third in the BBC talent show-themed television series I'd Do Anything in 2008. Barks has released three studio albums: Looking in Your Eyes, Samantha Barks, and Into the Unknown. She made her film debut as Éponine in the Tom Hooper-directed Les Misérables. Barks has also starred in the Disney Channel musical-comedy Groove High and the London revival of the musical The Last Five Years. She has appeared in at least 20 acting credits and is known for her work in musicals and films.
