Roman François Coppola was born on April 22, 1965, in Neuilly‑sur‑Seine, France. He is the son of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and works as an American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and entrepreneur. As a writer, he contributed to the 2012 film Moonrise Kingdom, for which he and co‑writer Wes Anderson received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. His television series Mozart in the Jungle won the 2016 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. In 2019 he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
