Roberta Maxwell is a Canadian actress born in Toronto on June 17, 1941. She began studying for the stage at the age of twelve. Early in her career, she joined John Clark for two years as the child co-host of his Junior Magazine series for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Television. She subsequently became the youngest actress apprentice at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. At the festival, she appeared as Ursula in Much Ado About Nothing, Lady Anne in Richard III, Olivia in Twelfth Night, and Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Following her time in Stratford, she went to England, spending three years in repertory. She made her West End debut alongside Robert Morley and Molly Picon in A Majority of One and later debuted on Broadway.
