Rachel Brosnahan is an American actress born on July 12, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is best known for portraying an aspiring stand-up comedian in the Amazon Prime Video period comedy series The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel from 2017 to 2023, earning a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018 and two consecutive Golden Globe Awards in 2018 and 2019. On television, she received an Emmy nomination for the political thriller series House of Cards between 2013 and 2015 and acted in the drama series Manhattan from 2014 to 2015. Brosnahan made her film debut in the 2009 horror film The Unborn and has since appeared in features including Beautiful Creatures, Louder Than Bombs, The Finest Hours, Patriots Day, Spies in Disguise, and The Courier.
