Matt Duffer is an American filmmaker and identical twin brother to Ross Duffer. Born on February 15, 1984, in Durham, North Carolina, he is known professionally alongside his brother as the Duffer Brothers. The brothers work on all their projects together. Matt Duffer is known for his writing credits and serves as a creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the Netflix supernatural science fiction horror series Stranger Things, which runs from 2016 to 2025. Additionally, the brothers wrote and directed the 2015 horror film Hidden and wrote and produced episodes of the Fox science fiction series Wayward Pines from 2015 to 2016. They also founded the production company Upside Down Pictures, which is in an overall deal with Netflix.
