Biography
Mary Elle Fanning, born April 9, 1998, is an American actress who began her career as a child performer. She made her film debut in I Am Sam (2001), playing the younger version of her sister Dakota Fanning's character. Early film roles include Daddy Day Care (2003), Babel (2006), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), and Phoebe in Wonderland (2008). She gained recognition for leading roles in Somewhere (2010) and Super 8 (2011). Fanning portrayed Princess Aurora in Maleficent (2014) and its sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019). She has received nominations for an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and four Golden Globe Awards.
