Biography
Marlene Dietrich (1901–1992) was a German-American actress and singer recognized as an iconic figure of classic Hollywood. She achieved fame during the 1930s through performances in films including The Blue Angel, Shanghai Express, and Destry Rides Again. Dietrich was noted for her sultry voice, striking beauty, and androgynous style. Throughout her career, she demonstrated an ability to reinvent herself, eventually transitioning from a film star to an internationally touring cabaret performer. Dietrich was also known for her progressive views and unconventional lifestyle.
