Biography
Leonard Simon Nimoy was an American actor, film director, poet, musician, and photographer born on March 26, 1931, in Boston, Massachusetts. He died on February 27, 2015, at the age of 83. Known for his work in acting with 231 known credits, Nimoy began his career in his early twenties by teaching acting classes in Hollywood and making minor film and television appearances through the 1950s, while also playing the title role in Kid Monk Baroni. In 1953, he served in the United States Army. His most famous role is that of Spock, beginning with his first appearance in the rejected Star Trek pilot, The Cage, in 1965, and continuing in the original Star Trek series from 1966 to 1969, as well as multiple films, television, and video game sequels.
