Biography
John Witherspoon was an African-American comedian and actor. He acted in over 20 movies and television shows, starring in films such as Hollywood Shuffle and Boomerang, and appearing in the Friday film series. He also made appearances on television shows including Barnaby Jones, The Wayans Brothers, The Tracy Morgan Show, and Boondocks. Witherspoon ventured into screenwriting, starring in the movie From the Old School, where he played an elderly working man trying to prevent a neighborhood convenience store from being developed. He released The John Witherspoon Collection. Witherspoon's acting career spanned over three decades.
