Jerry Hopper was an American film and television director born on July 29, 1907, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was active from the mid-1940s through the early 1970s. Before directing, Hopper worked as an editor at Paramount Pictures. He directed several installments of the Musical Parade series between 1946 and 1948. His feature film credits include The Atomic City in 1952, Secret of the Incas in 1954, and The Private War of Major Benson in 1955, with Charlton Heston appearing in the latter two. Hopper later focused on episodic television, directing episodes for programs including Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, The Addams Family, Bachelor Father, and Burke's Law. He died on December 17, 1988, at the age of 81.
