Biography

Jason Hughes is a Welsh actor born in Porthcawl, South Wales, UK on December 18, 1971. He is of Italian and Welsh descent, with his grandfather Raldo Carpinini being the son of an Italian immigrant from Bardi, Emilia-Romagna who settled in Ammanford. His great-grandfather was originally trained to lay train tracks before beginning an ice-cream business. Hughes is best known for playing Sergeant Ben Jones in the ITV series Midsomer Murders from 2005 to 2013, and for portraying lawyer Warren Jones in the BBC drama This Life during 1996-1997. He has also appeared in theatre, including the 1999 re-enactment of Our Country's Good as Second Lieutenant Ralph Clark.
