James Gunn
Biography
James Francis Gunn Jr. is an American filmmaker born on August 5, 1966. He began his career as a screenwriter in the mid-1990s, starting his work at Troma Entertainment with the 1996 film Tromeo and Juliet. Gunn later transitioned into directing with the horror-comedy Slither in 2006. His filmography includes Super, the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and The Suicide Squad. In 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery appointed Gunn and producer Peter Safran as co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios. In this capacity, Gunn serves as a principal creative architect, co-producing and executive producing projects for the studio. He has collaborated with his brother, actor Sean Gunn, on projects including Tromeo and Juliet and The Specials.
