Izabella Anna Mikolajczak, also known as Izabella Miko, is a female actor born in Lodz, Poland, on January 21, 1981, to Polish actors Grazyna Dylag and Aleksander Mikolajczak. At age ten, she auditioned for the National Ballet School in Warsaw. When she was fourteen, she attended a summer ballet workshop at Biennale, where an American choreographer invited her to study in New York City on a scholarship. On her fifteenth birthday, she moved to New York and was accepted into the School of American Ballet, subsequently moving into its dormitory. She has forty-five known acting credits. Outside of acting, she is known for supporting animal protection and ecological themes, engaging in environmental projects, participating in ecological documentary films, and opposing the use of fur in fashion.
