Isaiah Washington IV is an American actor and internet personality born on August 3, 1963. He began his film career by collaborating with director Spike Lee, appearing in the films Crooklyn in 1994, Clockers in 1995, Girl 6 in 1996, and Get on the Bus in 1996. Washington subsequently appeared in several other films throughout the late nineteen nineties and early two thousands, including Love Jones in 1997, Bulworth in 1998, True Crime in 1999, Romeo Must Die in 2000, Exit Wounds in 2001, Ghost Ship in 2002, and Hollywood Homicide in 2003. In 2005, Washington landed his breakthrough role portraying Dr. Preston Burke in the first three seasons of the television series Grey's Anatomy, appearing in the series from 2005 to 2007.
