Javier Harvey Guillén is an American actor born on May 3, 1990, in Orange County, California. He is the son of Mexican immigrants and adopted the name Harvey because school teachers could not pronounce his first name. He attended Citrus College, where he completed the three-year Citrus Singers program in 2005. Guillén speaks Spanish, English, and Japanese, having learned Japanese during a 13-month visit to Japan, and he identifies as queer. He is best known for his role as the human familiar Guillermo de la Cruz in the television series What We Do in the Shadows.
