George R.R. Martin is an American author, television writer, and television producer. He is known for writing the series of epic fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the television series Game of Thrones and its prequel series House of the Dragon. Martin also helped create the Wild Cards anthology series and contributed to worldbuilding for the video game Elden Ring.
